  • Asmall "soda" that looks like eating at an elderly aunt's kitchen table. Plastic covering some corny table clothes... yet, food is good, coffer was fresh (despite is made in a percolator). Pinto was seasoned correctly and the Costa Rican sausage (salchichón) is good. They also have spicy salchichón. No car park, yet plenty space around on the side of the road.

  • I am from California and have been in Costa Rica for a week now- and have tried numerous restaurants and this is by far one of the best! We drove by after ZipLining and saw the big abuela statue in the front… we had to try it!! When we walked in we were greeted by Joshi (i’m sorry if that’s misspelled) he guided us thru the menu and made us the most amazing drinks we’ve had since we have been here… We have tried a lot, while we waited he told us the history of the restaurant and encouraged us to visit the garden on top! I highly recommend visiting !! Definitely worth it!!

  • Great food, super friendly service, and it's spacious and clean inside - plus the views of the rainforest are incredible! While we were waiting for our food, we saw monkeys, vultures, and birds outside.

  • Abuela Luisita’s is a beautiful hotel and restaurant l that we stumbled upon during our stay in La Fortuna. We stopped for a delicious tradicional breakfast and coffee. It was my favorite meal of the trip and affordable! The service was warm and friendly. I would highly recommend this establishment. 10/10 :)

  • We saw this place immediately because we couldn’t miss the enormous Abuela statue and decided to stop in because we all know abuelas are the best cooks. The food was delicious and we enjoyed every bite. We tried new dishes and sides like the beef gallo and wood-oven ribs. The picketed vegetables and local fried root were very good and I like that there were healthy options. The menu had a lot of options- including an American breakfast if you’re craving that. The open air restaurant is beautifully designed with a lot of attention to detail. I loved the service we received as much as the food. Our waiter Yoshi was so friendly and welcoming. You can tell he loves his culture and wants to share it with others. Please stop by and check it out for yourself- your taste buds won’t be disappointed.
